Say goodbye to disposable razors! If you're looking for a real close and zero-waste shave, you've found it. The Rockwell Razors R1 has a longer handle, which is a perfect length for ladies who are looking to shave their legs and bikini areas. It may take a several tries to get used to if you have never used a safety razor before, but once you get the angle and the movement down, you will wonder why you never used one in the first place. If you are an experienced shaver, or would like to be able to have control over the angle of the blades, take a look at the 6C (6-setting) razor instead.
It uses Rockwell double-edge razor blades, but is compatible with any brand of double edge blades.
Before shaving, be sure to prep your skin and hairs by either taking a bath or shower, and exfoliating if you want to go the extra mile. Always save shaving for the end, so that your skin and hairs get nice and soft.
Apply your shaving soap, oil or cream. When you are ready with your razor, hold it at a 30-degree angle to your skin. Do NOT apply pressure like you would with a disposable razor – it is not necessary because of the single blade and the clean cut it makes. Use short (a few inches at a time), smooth strokes against the grain of your hair. Make sure to go slow and steady, especially if you are just starting out.
Rinse and air dry your razor after every use. Leaving it wet (like in a shower) can cause rusting on the blades. Replace blades every 4-8 shaves, depending on how thick your hair is.
End of life: Blade disposal takes special care, as they are sharp, and cannot be tossed into your blue bin as is. They can be collected into the Blade Safe or a sharps container and taken to a local pharmacy for proper disposal. We suggest checking with your local municipality to see what the best way of collecting and disposing used blades is.
Razor: chromed alloy. Blades: stainless steel.
