1oz / 28ml
Formulated for the most delicate skin, this sunscreen is hypoallergenic and features gentle ingredients such as coconut oil, chamomile, calendula and sunflower seed oil, making it light, creamy and easy to apply without running or stinging the eyes. With non-nano zinc oxide as its only active ingredient, it provides UVA-UVB true broad spectrum protection and is very water resistant beyond 80 minutes. The art stick applicator is made of cardboard so it's plastic-free, fully recyclable and compostable.
Sunscreen sticks are great for small faces, and even for young kids to apply sunscreen on themselves. 99% of them come in plastic packaging, so the moment Raw Elements released this cardboard stick version we knew we had to try it. Which we did, and we love it!
The formula has been simplified for babies and kids compared to their original tin sunscreen formula (which we also use on our 3-year-old with no issue). Ingredients such as hemp seed oil, black and green tea extracts, coffee bean extract and mango butter have been replaced with soothing organic chamomile, organic calendula, organic sunflower and organic coconut.
Raw Elements was founded by an ocean lifeguard, who set out to develop a sunscreen that was safe for our bodies and environment. The line is Non-GMO Project verified, Leaping Bunny certified, and the company is a member of 1% for the Planet.
Apply liberally 15 minutes before sun exposure. Reapply after 80 minutes of swimming or sweating, immediately after towel drying and at least every 2 hours.
Push pop style cardboard sticks don't twist up – you gently push up from the base of the stick. Go easy at first, and don't push to far up because you will need to push it back down to close.
The texture is smooth and blends in very well (darker skin tones may experience a tiny bit of a white cast but it is very little compared to other zinc formulas!).
Make sure to keep the compostable stick dry, as it will begin to breakdown when wet.
